Inspired by Rinzen's deep love of sci-fi and futuristic themes, we developed a direction that explored an imaginary world far away.

Working alongside Paul Hoi @ Desert Futures to develop the single artwork, we explore a different part of our journey through this world, moving at different paces and scales. The city lights, with buildings so tall, replaced the stars in the sky, as we travel looking for a sense of home.

There's a further development of an existential crisis that unfolds throughout the singles, as we look down, over, and up at a city that dwarfs us, making us feel tiny in a massive universe.

Referencing astrophotography and atmospheric phenomena, we imagined the artwork as beings of light, almost religious. Juxtaposing deep emptiness and negative space against high-fidelity central motifs was a strong theme throughout all stages of the art direction development.

Mike (Rinzen) mentions that a strong point of inspiration for the album was from a book, "A Memory Called Empire". There were authoritarian themes throughout the book, but Mike had his own interpritations of 'bending to the light' as a metaphor to always base your life decisions on the good side. This influenced a somewhat bittersweet and nostalgic note in the creative that we wanted to develop.

We wanted to create a sense of feeling at home amongst the stars with the direction.
