Album Art and Visualiser package for Framework's 'Reflections' album.
—
'Reflections' was written as a way for Matt (Frameworks) to explore looking inwards and letting go of his attachment to his music. It comes from a place of vulnerability, transparency, and self-reflectance.
Taking inspiration from Matt's approach to life and writing music, the art direction tackles themes of identity, form, fragility, and perspective.
—
The visual had to remain very simple and relatable. The subject represents a 'self', where you could be staying afloat in an ever-changing world. A fragile figure submersed in a beautifully clear fluid almost becoming one, as you accept the world around you and become a reflection of this.
—
Exploring mirrors, hard and soft materials, sculptures, and beauty within gave way to the idea of something unchanged by the world around it, but still fluid in perception and a representation of the time.
I used a high-dispersion caustic material to add colour and beauty as light travelled through both the figure and the water to create a natural pattern on the surface that formed the backdrop to the artwork.
—
Creating a seamless looping displacement caused the light to dance and refract across the artwork giving a sense of peace, timelessness, and beauty to the visual.

'Reflections' is available on Bandcamp and streamable on Spotify.
Thanks to Matt - Frameworks for allowing me to be a part of their inspiring album story.
